Hi from Canberra, you can reach me at richard@laugesen.com.au and on BlueSky.
My work generally focuses on hydrological modelling for decision support. Around the intersections of computational hydrology, decision theory, and water resource management. I am a doctoral researcher at University of Adelaide and visiting fellow at Australian National University. Please email me at richard.laugesen@adelaide.edu.au if you are interested in collaborating. I'm particularly interested in Southeast Asia's water security. An out of date ORCID.
Please approach my consultancy at Pintar Projects to discuss any predictive systems or decision analytics support you may need.
I work on continental-scale forecast systems and manage the occasional water-related project with external partners. Please contact me at richard.laugesen@bom.gov.au regarding any Bureau projects I am involved in.
I teach science at a local high school, love it, and have no capacity for further commitments at the moment. Influencing tomorrows leaders and rebels is the best way I know to tackle things like disinformation and the climate emergency.
Globally, bleeding disorders are underdiagnosed, have limited access to treatment, and cause substantial health, social, and economic impacts. I've been part of the ACT committee of Haemophilia Foundation Australia for a number of years and am happy to chat if you want to know more.
